GCS: coordinating the grinder and espresso machine

Extraction feedback informs grinder adjustments for greater consistency throughout the day.

What does GCS address?

Coffee behaviour can change with environmental conditions. GCS, the Grinder Control System, connects the espresso machine and grinder to adjust grinding settings automatically. The barista first defines the desired settings; the system helps maintain them during service. It does not replace recipe selection or the barista's sensory assessment.

From extraction time to burr adjustment

Dalla Corte's technical description uses extraction time as a reference for detecting deviations. When results move away from programmed settings, burr spacing and grinding time are adjusted. DC Two also supports assigning each hopper to specific groups and monitoring them independently. The mechanism uses extraction-process feedback, not direct measurement of flavour.

Which equipment combinations are suitable?

The current dedicated page lists ZERO PLUS, XT, ICON and EVO2 alongside DC ONE and DC TWO grinders. A technology being mentioned for a model does not mean it is standard on every version; ICON specifications, for example, list it as an option. Model, generation, communication equipment and order configuration must be reviewed before compatibility is confirmed.
